With a highly maintained clay court facility and new water fountain (bottle filling station), it’s never been easier to come to the courts and enjoy the sport of Tennis.
The Heritage Harbor Travel Team continues to compete in Round Robin Match all year long. The Team competed in 4 tournaments in the Fall of 2019 (one per month) and placed highly in all divisions, especially orange ball. They look forward to commencing the Winter/Spring schedule starting January- May 2020. These young athletes train a minimum of 2 days a week and many are taking private lessons to hone their technical skills. It’s exciting to see new students being introduced to the sport and grow their passion for the sport at such a young age. These dedicated students are not couch potatoes. They are committing to a healthy lifestyle through Tennis. Open registration continues for The 2020 Winter / Spring programs which includes Camps. Call us to register at 813-492-9591.
Camps were very successful during Spring Break / Summer / Thanksgiving. Many committed young players participated in multiple weeks of Tennis camps. These camps are great opportunities for kids to develop their skills, meet new friends and stay fit and healthy. Offering reduced pricing on private lessons allows these new students extra time to advance in the sport during their vacation time.
Adult programs were strong and steady through 2019 and continue to grow. Adult men and women come out weekly to get court time and get fit. The HHRC is lucky to have clay courts which is less jarring on the body and make it ideal for adults of all ages and abilities to partake in a sport of a lifetime.
Pickleball is an up-and-coming sport that is becoming very established all over the nation. The HHRC is excited to introduce pickleball lessons in Spring 2020. Class times and schedules will be announced next month. Pickleball is one of the fastest growing racquet sports in the nation, enjoyed by people of all ages. The court dimensions are smaller than that of a tennis court and the rackets are shorter and lighter with a ball that resembles a wiffle Ball.
